Bonjour Hernan, peux tu te présenter pour ceux qui ne te connaissent pas encore (honte à eux)?

Hernan Cattaneo, DJ Argentin, je vis à Barcelone et voyage partout dans le monde pour jouer différents genres de House music.

Depuis « Sequential vol 2 » sur Renaissance, aucune sortie. Tu prépares quelque chose pour la fin de l’année ou tu préfères te consacrer à ta carrière de DJ, en t’accordant  plus de temps pour voyager ?

Entre 2002 et 2007 j’ai réalisé 5 compilations. On a pensé que ce serait bien que je fasse un break cette année.

Dans ta biographie, tu cites Franckie Knuckles et Inner City (Kevin Saunderson) comme de grandes influences musicales, te sens tu plus inspiré par un plutôt qu’un autre, Chicago ou Detroit ?

Les deux, vraiment,
D’un côté tu as l’émotion, de l’autre l’énergie.

On te dit grand supporter des producteurs et DJ’s Sud Américains, lesquels pourrait tu nous recommander ?

Il y a beaucoup de talents là bas.
Martin Garcia a toujours été un de mes favoris, il y a aussi Soudexile, MOS, Mercurio…

Quels sont tes autres artistes préférés ? Peux tu nous donner par exemple ton top ten ?

J’ai toujours été fan de Guy Gerber, depuis ses débuts, et il s’améliore de plus en plus sur chaque disque.

Y’a t il un endroit où tu aimes ou aimerais jouer ?

J’ai eu la chance de jouer dans toutes les grandes villes du monde lors de mes 10 dernières années de tournée.
Mais je n’ai jamais joué dans le sud de la France par exemple,  je pense que ça pourrait être sympa.

La scène techno japonaise est connue pour être très active, cependant une des plus tristes nouvelles du moment est la fermeture du Yellow Club, comment ressens tu ça ?

C’est très triste.
Je joue régulièrement au Yellow et il a toujours été mon club favori.
D’un autre côté, j’ai été très honoré de jouer pendant la dernière semaine du club, au milieu de maîtres comme Laurent Garnier, François K et Danny Krivit.

Metrodance FM a également laissé tomber la diffusion de ton Sequential Show, serais-ce la fin de la dance music ? Peut être as tu l’intention de trouver une autre radio ou de créer un podcast ?

C’est la fin de rien du tout !!!
Metro FM a seulement été racheté par une grosse boite qui possède plein de stations et préfère aller dans une autre direction.
Nous trouverons une autre radio tôt ou tard.

Quels sont tes projets maintenant ? Pourquoi pas un label ?

Mon nouveau single est sorti cette semaine sur Urbantorque et j’ai eu de très bons retours.
A label digital est en construction, mais ça prend du temps, étant toujours sur la route.

Hi Hernan, first thanks for according us this interview ! Could you present yourself for the ones who doesn’t know you yet (shame on them J ) ?

Hernan Cattaneo, argentinean dj, living in barcelona,
Travelling the world playing different kinds of house music

Since your last release on Renaissance « Sequential vol 2 », nothing came out, do you intend to release something until the end of the year or is it a way to focus on your DJ career, according time to travel around the world ?

Between 2002 and 2007 i did 5 compilations in a row.
We tought it was good to take a break this year.

 
In your biography, I read about Franckie Knuckles and Inner City (Kevin Sauderson) as big musical influences, do you feel more inspired by one or another, Chicago or Detroit ?

Both really
One is the feeling , the other the energy
 

Some say you’re a big supporter of south american producers and dj’s, wich ones could you advice to us ? Is there some that you would have liked to bring with you for your incomming in France ?

Theres plenty of talent
Martin garcia been always a fav, also soudexile, MOS, mercurio…

 
What are your other favourite producers ? Could you give us your top ten of the moment ?

Been a fan of guy gerber since day one and he is getting better at every release.

Is there a particular club or geographical place where you like to play ?

I been luckt to have played almost every big city in the world
In the last 10 years of tours, but, for example, never been in southern France, so that would be a nice choice
 

The japanese techno scene is well known for being very active, but the saddest news of the moment might be the lockout of  the yellow club, how do you feel about that ?

It feels really sad
I been playing yellow for 8 years and its always been my fav club in the world
On the other side, i ve been honoured to play the last week of partys
Along masters like Laurent Granier, Frnacois K, and Danny Krivit.

 
Metrodance FM also dropped out the airing of the Sequential show, is it the end of the dance music ? Do you intend to find another radio, or create a podcast maybe ?

Is not the end of nothing !!!
Metro FM just been bought by a big corporation company
That owns many stations and prefer to go on a different direction.
We will find anothr station sooner or later
 

What are your projects now ? What about a label ?

My new single came out this week on Urbantorque with really exiting reviews.
A digital label its in the process, but its taking time as i´m always on the road
