On its tour to present the new album “Where the oceans end”, the French folk duo Cocoon will stop over in Luxembourg, at the Rockhal’s Club, on 13 October 2011.

After cover versions of songs such as Outkast’s “Hey Ya” or Amy Winehouse’s “Rehab” and the worldwide success of their first album “My friends all died in a plane crash”, Cocoon have definitely found their place as one of the new French folk scene’s leading bands, even if their songs are in English. Since they left Clermont-Ferrand four years ago, Mark Daumail (strings, vocals) and Morgane Imbeaud (keys, vocals) have already come a long way. Based on melodies that are influenced by Elliot Smith, Iron and Wine and Nick Drake, Cocoon compose songs full of softness, beauty and lightness. Thus the duo creates a poetical and resolutely human dimension which makes their listeners want to escape to a place where they can be themselves, as in a cocoon.

By mixing two superb voices which magnificently complement and respond to each other, the duo won over the audience with their records and their stage performance where they create a subtle melange of talent, emotions and humour. Indeed, the most important aspect for Cocoon is to create a good atmosphere at their concerts and to share it with the audience. That is why Mark and Morgane are often joking between their songs at all their stage appearances. With “Where the oceans end”, Cocoon have produced another beautiful album and once again, it takes us along for a journey to an imaginary world where the band travels the oceans on a whale called Yum Yum. Each song represents one stage of this trip.

If you want to enjoy a very intimate concert where the magic and softness of Cocoon intertwine, come to the Rockhal’s Club on 13 October 2011.
