DJ MUGGS ( CYPRESS HILL )
Les membres de Cypress Hill proviennent du sud de la ville de Los Angeles en Californie, la commune suburbaine de South Gate pauvre et majoritairement peuplée de migrants mexicains. Sen Dog est membre d’un gang affilié, « Family swan blood » dans lequel il fait entrer B-Real, jusqu’au jour où ce dernier doit être hospitalisé, suite à une blessure par balle. Les trois membres originaux (B-Real, Sen Dog et le frère de Sen Dog, Mellow Man Ace forment le groupe DVX en 1986. Lorsque Mellow Man Ace quitte le groupe en 1988, ils décident de se renommer Cypress Hill (d’après le nom d’une rue de South Gate) et poussent B-Real à délaisser définitivement la rue pour le rap. DJ Muggs, producteur originaire de New York, renforce le son sombre déjà propre à Cypress Hill.
