Defected Records pick up Dennis Ferrer ‘Hey Hey’

Take note people, this is the biggest original house record of the moment, this record oozes class, screams hit and stands out from other current vocal dance records by miles. As we all know Pete Tong only focuses on the tracks that are exuding the most heat, and sure enough he was quick to pick up on ‘Hey Hey’ making it his Essential New Tune immediately. Not just that, the track achieved a Beatport No.1 position in record time, a rapid reaction that no other house track has achieved recently.

 

Big dance records with super cool vocals are rare these days, very few cross over with chart potential, but there are exceptions;  X-press 2 had their opportunity with ‘Lazy’, Sandy Rivera had his with ‘Finally’, Kenny Dope with ‘The Bucketheads’ and now it is the turn of Dennis Ferrer to have his moment with ‘Hey Hey’.

Although best known as the most in-demand underground house DJ, Dennis is no stranger to chart success, it was his mix of Fish Go Deep’s ‘The Cure And The Cause’ that pushed the track to its peak, and his mix really made Blaze’s ‘Most Precious Love’, both UK Top 30 national chart performers.
