Début 2007 il sort sa première mixtape Young On Probation, et participe au événements du Get Wett! Entertainment a Los Angeles, ou il se fait vraiment connaitre. Fin 2007 il assure la première partie des Fall Out Boys et des Gym Class Heroes pendant la tournée Young Wild Things Tour. Le 10 juin 2008 son premier album sort, sur les labels Decaydance Records et Young Money Entertainment. En 2009, il apparait sur deux singles des 3 de l’album We Are Young Money, qui regroupe les artistes signés sur le label éponyme. C’est principalement le single Bedrock qui le fait connaitre au grand public, notamment français.
En 2008, Tyga sort son premier album solo intitulé No Introduction où l’on peut retrouver son cousin Travis McCoy sur Coconut Juice puis suit une dizaine de mixtapes. Le 21 Février 2012, il sort Careless World : Rise of the Last King son second album studio sous le label Cash Money Records avec notamment les featuring de Pharell, Nicki Minaj, Big Sean, Chris Brown, Busta Rhymes, T Pain, Nas ou encore Lil Wayne.
